Apple has introduced a new Apple Account migration tool, allowing users to consolidate purchases from multiple accounts into a single primary account. This feature is particularly useful for those who have separate accounts for iCloud and media purchases, making it easier to access all digital content from one place.

How Apple Account Migration Works
According to a newly published Apple support document, users can move apps, music, books, TV shows, and movies from a secondary Apple Account to a primary Apple Account.
To be eligible for migration, users must:
- Have access to both accounts, including the email, phone number, and password for each.
- Ensure two-factor authentication is enabled.
- Not share either account with other users.
- Have both accounts set to the same country.
- Ensure the secondary account has no remaining balance.
During migration, the Apple Account signed in to iCloud will become the primary account, while the account used for media and purchases will be the secondary account.

Steps to Migrate Purchases
To begin the process, users need to:
- Sign in with two different Apple IDs on an iPhone or iPad—one for iCloud and one for purchases.
- Open the Settings app and go to Media and Purchases.
- Tap View Account and select Migrate Purchases.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the migration.
After the migration is complete:
- The secondary account will no longer be available for purchases.
- Users must log in with the primary Apple Account on all their devices.
- All payment methods and subscriptions from the secondary account will transfer to the primary account.
- The Up Next queue in Apple TV and podcast library data from the secondary account will overwrite the primary account’s content.

Limitations and Availability
At this time, Apple Account migration is not available in the European Union, United Kingdom, or India. Apple has not yet announced if or when this feature will expand to these regions.
For users looking to merge their digital purchases, Apple recommends carefully reviewing its migration checklist to ensure a smooth transition.
