Huawei is preparing to launch a revolutionary mobile device. In a recent Weibo video, Richard Yu, Huawei’s executive director, teased that the company will unveil a product in March that is unlike anything currently on the market.

Reports suggest that this innovative device is the Huawei Pocket 3, code-named “Verde”, which means “Green” in Portuguese and Spanish. Unlike conventional foldable smartphones that typically have a 20:9 or 21:9 aspect ratio, Huawei is taking a bold step by introducing a 3:2 aspect ratio for its foldable display. The main inner foldable screen measures 6.3 inches, while the outer cover display is 3.5 inches.
What makes this design particularly interesting is its similarity to Apple’s iPad Mini, which also features a 3:2 aspect ratio. This gives the Huawei Pocket 3 the feel of a foldable iPad Mini, offering a unique balance between portability and productivity. By combining compact design with a more practical aspect ratio, Huawei is positioning the Pocket 3 as an innovative alternative to both smartphones and small tablets.
Beyond hardware, Huawei is reinforcing its commitment to HarmonyOS. Richard Yu confirmed that major Chinese tech giants like Tencent, ByteDance, Alibaba, and Meituan are actively optimizing their apps for this native ecosystem.
