OpenAI has announced that the deep research feature is now available to all ChatGPT Plus users. Previously exclusive to Pro subscribers for $200 per month, this advanced tool is now accessible for just $20 per month, allowing users to conduct comprehensive research directly within ChatGPT.
Starting this month, Plus, Team, Edu, and Enterprise users will get 10 queries per month for deep research. Pro users will see their query limits rise from 100 to 120.

The deep research feature can autonomously search the web, analyze information, and generate detailed reports. It uses OpenAI’s o3 reasoning model, optimized for web browsing, data analysis, and interpreting text, images, and PDFs. Users can attach files and input prompts to receive well-documented, thoroughly cited reports—ideal for finance, science, policy, and engineering professionals.
Based on user feedback, OpenAI has improved how deep research handles uploaded files, making it more effective at referencing and incorporating data from documents. This ensures reports are contextually accurate and tailored to specific needs.
OpenAI plans to add features like embedded images, data visualizations, and more analytic outputs to enhance the clarity and usability of reports. They are also exploring the possibility of increasing query limits and expanding access to meet growing demand.

The deep research feature is available across all ChatGPT platforms, including web, iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows. Users can select the “deep research” model to have the AI conduct research and provide a detailed report, typically within 5 to 30 minutes.
