Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus international release date now official

Xiaomi has started teasing the first international release of the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus. Seemingly, the IP69 certified handset will be launching alongside the Redmi Note 14 and Redmi Note 14 Pro with quite a few changes from the current Redmi Note 13 series.

For context, the company kicked off the series in September by releasing the following Redmi Note 14 smartphones:

  • Redmi Note 14
  • Redmi Note 14 Pro
  • Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus

Specifications Overview

The Redmi Note 14 series launched in China boasts an array of features designed to cater to various consumer needs. All three models are equipped with a 6.67-inch OLED display, offering a 120Hz refresh rate for a smooth and immersive viewing experience.

Under the hood, the Redmi Note 14 is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra chipset. Meanwhile, the Pro variants showcase more advanced configurations, with the Redmi Note 14 Pro running on a Dimensity 7300 Ultra processor and the Pro+ variant featuring the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset.

Camera and Battery Features

Photography enthusiasts can expect high-quality imaging capabilities across the range. Both the Pro and Pro+ models include a 50MP primary sensor paired with an 8MP ultrawide lens. However, the Pro+ distinguishes itself further with a 50MP portrait telephoto camera, while the Pro opts for a 2MP macro lens.

Battery performance is another highlight. The Note 14 Pro+ is equipped with a robust 6,200mAh battery supporting 90W fast charging, ensuring quick top-ups for users on the go. On the other hand, the Note 14 Pro houses a 5,500mAh battery with 44W fast charging capabilities.

Please be aware that these are all 5G models. However, recent leaks suggest that there will be 4G variants too, though, to replace the Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G. Recently, Xiaomi confirmed that it would be unveiling the Redmi Note 14 series internationally, despite having introduced predecessors only earlier this year. Now, it seems that the company is ready to reveal more details about this release.

Xiaomi has now revealed that the Redmi Note 14 series will land in India on December 9. As expected, Xiaomi will expand Redmi Note 14, Redmi Note 14 Pro and Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus availability to India first before offerign the devices to other markets.Potentially, launches in US and other markets are not that far behind, though. Xiaomi has not confirmed as much just yet, though.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra Camera Details Emerge,Tipped to Feature 50-Megapixel Main Sensor and Advanced Features

Xiaomi 15 series with Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC was unveiled last month, however the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to launch early next year as the third model in the series. Despite the potential launch being months away, details about the quad camera setup of the phone have surfaced on the Web. A new leak suggests that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will have a 50-megapixel main sensor with larger focal length. This could enhance the low-light performance of the Ultra model.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra Camera Specifications Leaked

According to a Weibo post by known tipster Digital Chat Station (translated from Chinese), the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will feature a 50-megapixel main sensor with a 23mm focal length and an f/1.6 aperture. The focal length of the primary sensor is said to be larger than Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s 8.7xmm. This is likely to improve the low-light performance of the phone. The tipster says the handset will have a “new customised hardware module”, this could be a remark about the custom designed main sensor.

Like the predecessor, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is said to carry a 200-megapixel periscope sensor. This telephoto sensor is tipped to offer 4.3x optical zoom, a 100mm focal length, and an f/2.6 aperture. The tipster claims that the size of the periscope sensor has been cropped to 25.xmm focal length. It is said to offer two zoom options – 4.3x with a 1/1.5-inch image size, and 4.1x with a 1/1.4-inch sensor.

Besides the primary sensor and telephoto sensor, the camera unit of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to include a 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL JN5 sensor and a 50-megapixel periscope lens with 2x zoom. On the front, it could include a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

As per past leaks, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will have a 6.7-inch 2K LTPO micro quad-curved display with 120Hz refresh rate. Like other Xiaomi 15 series siblings, it could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. It is expected to run on HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15. It may carry a 6,000mAh battery with 90W wired and 80W wireless charging support. It could boast a circular camera module.

Xiaomi 15, Honor Magic 7 confirmed to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite

Qualcomm debuted its Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset at Snapdragon Summit 2024, and various phone makers have since come forward to confirm that their upcoming flagships will be powered by the all-new (and all-powerful) mobile platform.

Both Xiaomi and Honor joined Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon on stage in Hawaii to announce that the Xiaomi 15 and Honor Magic 7 series, respectively, will launch this month (likely in China) with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

Asus, too, confirmed that the upcoming Asus ROG Phone 9 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, and Samsung mobile chief TM Roh also appeared at Snapdragon Summit to reaffirm his company’s ongoing partnership with Qualcomm. Roh didn’t mention the Samsung Galaxy S25 series by name, but you can bet your house that the best Samsung phones we see in 2025 will come packing the Snapdragon 8 Elite (disclaimer: that’s not serious financial advice).

In other words, it’s highly likely that many of next year’s best Android phones will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, with Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series being the first of that number to ship in the US, UK, and Australia . Those aforementioned models from Xiaomi, Honor, and OnePlus will presumably debut in China first, before launching internationally at a later date in 2025.

As for how the Snapdragon 8 Elite stacks up against its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, it’s the first Snapdragon mobile chipset to feature Qualcomm’s second-generation Oryon CPU, and has been designed to “handle the complexities of multi-modal AI” much more efficiently.

Any phones equipped with Qualcomm’s latest chipset will deliver faster app launches, more seamless multitasking, and more powerful generative AI capabilities than their Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-equipped predecessors, and mobile gamers, too, will benefit from sharper images, smoother gameplay, and longer gameplay sessions thanks to the 8 Elite’s improved Adreno GPU.
